STOMP

Can MDT delay ADT compared with surveillance in oligorecurrent HSPC?

Randomized phase II; n=62, up to 3 choline-PET lesions. MDT (surgery/SBRT) vs surveillance.

Outcome visualization · source-reported data

Median ADT-free survival

Small phase II trial; between-arm difference not statistically significant

MDT
21 mo
Surveillance
13 mo

Visualization reflects reported outcomes; it does not itself generate an NNT or establish an overall-survival benefit.

Key result

Suggests MDT can defer ADT in selected patients; not powered to establish OS benefit.

Current-practice context · reviewed 14 October 2026

STOMP suggested metastasis-directed therapy can delay initiation of ADT in selected men with oligorecurrent hormone-sensitive prostate cancer, but it was a small phase II trial and did not establish an overall-survival benefit. Interpret alongside ORIOLE, RADIOSA and PEACE V–STORM; MDT is a shared-decision option for carefully staged patients, not a replacement for systemic treatment in widespread disease.
